Since the last weeks are coming closer fast, billions of nerve cells formed in his/her brain called “neurons”, make it possible for them to understand what happens in their environment while living in the womb. Your baby can hear, feel and see. In those weeks the diameter of your baby’s head begins to develop faster than before. The pupils of your baby contracts in lighted environments while widens in the dark. Your baby can see blur because of that. Like new births, your baby spends his/her time mostly by sleeping. Even, they fell into deep sleeps and REM (Rapid Eye Movements) can be realized. REM sleeps in adult’s stand for movements in dreaming. We cannot know whether your baby’s dreaming, however it is still very nice to think that he/she is dreaming. Your baby’s lungs have developed and more or less completed their process of growth. The fatty tissue under the skin, which protects the body and preserve the body temperature after birth, continues to become thicker. Babies get weight very fast during the last weeks of pregnancy. Your baby gets the birth position gradually. If his/her head is on the top, you should have “cesarean section” (C-section) because of “breech presentation” to a great extent. You may realize that you are gaining weight rapidly while reaching to the end of pregnancy. It is normal to have small edemas in hands and feet, however if you have serious headaches, you see flashing lights, and dots, sudden increases in swellings, stomach aches, nausea and vomiting, you should be aware of preeclampsia and consult your physician as soon as possible. If your baby is bigger, or you are expecting twins or triplets, you might lose your appetite depending on pressure and disturbance created by excess swellings in your abdomen. You may realize the difference of your baby’s knee and elbow hits. From time to time, you may feel that your baby is jumping in the womb. These are the sobbing of your baby and it is a quite normal situation.
